The speedy Arctic Ghazal
The speedy Arctic Ghazal

As quick and elusive as its distant southern relative, the African Gazelle, the Arctic Ghazal displays a unique behaviour.  She does atmospheric research in Canada’s far north.

Ghazal Farhani, a PhD candidate supervised by Prof. Bob Sica, has just completed a month at the Polar Environment Atmospheric Research Laboratory (PEARL), at Eureka, Nunavut, where she took  LIDAR observations of the  upper atmosphere.

Bob Sica’s group operates the Purple Crow LIDAR at Western, and Bob is involved in the operations at Eureka.
