Faranak Sharifi (photo above) has been awarded the Robert and Ruth Lumsden Graduate Fellowship for 2013-2014.

Faranak works with supervisor Dr. Giovanni Fanchini in the area of condensed matter physics, specifically with nanomaterials and nano-optoelectronics.

These fellowships were made possible by a bequest to Foundation Western by the late Ruth V. Lumsden (BA ’79) and Robert O. Lumsden (BA ’78).
