David Holdsworth (Surgery and Medical Biophysics) is the Principal Investigator of one of Western’s 5 successful CFI awards:
“Facility for Load-bearing Imaging, Biomechanics and Clinical Orthopaedics Research (LIBCOR)” (total amount: $3,356,688).
“Facility for Load-bearing Imaging, Biomechanics and Clinical Orthopaedics Research (LIBCOR)” (total amount: $3,356,688).
Blaine Chronik (Physics and Astronomy, Robarts scientist) is one of the 9 co-investigators on this award. The proposed facility incorporates infrastructure for load-bearing imaging of joints and quantitative imaging of soft-tissue, organized within 3 suites: the Dynamic Imaging Suite, the 3D Imaging Suite, and the Software Suite.
Dr. Chronik is responsible for the component of the grant which uses the 3T MRI system within the CFMM at Robarts, and which will be substantially upgraded for orthopaedic imaging applications.
